Video / Hardware problems made this disappointing January 4, 2009 Eric Paddock (AF Deployed) First, it does not have a 512mb videocard, it has a 128 mb videocard with the ability to use system memory to make it 512 mb. This is a huge difference when dealing with today's modern games.
Problems: I've had this system for five months now and I've returned it to Acer Tech Support twice now. The first time was for Overheating (faulty fan), and video card problems (kept getting kicked out of programs and games...DAILY). I've just returned it again because I'm still experiencing problems with the videocard. For a new computer, I'm disappointed. Maybe I just received a faulty laptop, but it's really changed my views on Acer products.
Good Stuff: Besides the above stuff, the laptop has fulfilled the needs of my family as a "Desktop Replacement" computer. You never feel limited because it's "just a laptop" because it truly out performs most computers.

Title of this product said Acer Aspire 7720G Notebook Laptop, Intel Core 2 Duo T7500, 2.20GHz, 17" TFT, 3GB RAM, 500 Hard-drive, DVDRW, NVIDIA GeForce 8400M Graphics, Integ Webcam, TV Tuner and Remote, WiFi, Vista Home Premium
But in the tech specifications it said it has a 8600M GT 512. Now what is it. This is a big differnce!!!! Can some one please tell me which it is.
Great value laptop August 11, 2008 P. Chandler (At work) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
You can't get more for your money than this laptop.
Pros- 512mb Nvidia 8600, with system, memory up to 1280mb ?!? 2 x 250 GB Hard drives Gorgeous screen, comparable to the Dell ones. Built in TV (using media centre)with supplied aerial cable adapters. 4.5 score in Vista, only brought down by normal graphics rating, scores high on 3D graphics. HD films look good, but I'm not a great fan though. You may want to raise the vibrancy level on the colour menu.
Cons- A volume control that I can't see lasting, get used to using the software volume. Weight, it is heavy, but I'm not going anywhere with it. The pre-installed software, I'd rather control everything with Vista. The TV aerial is weak, had to connect to the roof aerial. I needed to update the Graphics and sound drivers due to game crashes and sound distortion respectively.
Highly recommended budget gaming and media laptop.
