1 out of 5 stars poor fit and sound   December 30, 2008

I have tried every earpiece supplied and all of them are a poor fit - and I have never found this to be an issue before. Worse still the sound is on a par with the free earphones you get with an ipod........poor value even at 17.99.

4 out of 5 stars Surpisingly pleased with these headphones   December 29, 2008

I was reluctant at first to purchase earphone like these as I find that they often fall out of my ears. These are comfortable to wear, they do sometime fall out however I wear them with the band pulled taut behind my head and this seams to alleviate the problem. I use them for commuting on noisy trains and I found before these headphones I had to have the volume up loud to hear my music clearly, now this is not the case. The in ear type headphones for me do take some getting used to because you do feel the thud of your footsteps as the only sound you can hear is from the headphones, they are very good at blocking out external noise, I keep missing my mobile phone ringing! They come very well packaged. I purchased these for 18 from Amazon when they were a special offer, and I am glad I did. Overall I am pleased with these headphones and would recommend these to others.

2 out of 5 stars Custom 1's - Comfortable Earphones   December 9, 2008

These headphones are very light and comfortable to wear. They come in a nice box, with an assortment of gel tips for various ear sizes, and a handy storage case.
Now with the good points out of the way, onto the bad, of which there are two:- Sound quality and efficiency.
The sound quality really isn't that good, poor bass, dull treble.
The efficiency is low, meaning you need to turn the volume up to get any kind of sound out of them.
Don't wiggle your jaw either, as this affects the sound as well.
In fact the Samsung earphones that came with my S5 are much better than these.
I have since bought some Sony EX90LP's, and whilst not quite as comfortable to wear, are light years ahead of the Custom 1's for sound quality.

If your priorities are lightness and comfort, buy them.
If you prefer good sound quality, don't.

1 out of 5 stars Shockingly poor fit for my ears   December 5, 2008

All the ear gels supplied with these headphones are unsuitable for me. This means the headphones fail to stay in my ears, they are uncomfortable and the sound quality is unacceptable (since it depends entirely upon the headphones fitting well).

It's a shame Klipsch couldn't include a wider range of ear gels so these fit better. I think this reflects badly on the manufacturer because I've never had this issue before and I have had similarly priced in-ear headphones from 2 different manufacturers (Sony and Shure). I am going back to get another pair that worked for me in the past.

5 out of 5 stars At last, all my headphone problems are solved.   December 2, 2008

Since buying my ipod 2 years ago I have tried all sorts of headphones from the lousy ones that come with the ipod to these (Custom 1) babies. I've tried Sennhieser, Shure, Sony and now Klipsch. Almost bought these a month ago but having had a bad experience with Shure in ear headphones which I could not get to stay in my ears, I didn't want to risk 50. However, when they appeared on Amazon's deal of the week page for under 20 I snapped them up. They're brilliant. They have oval ear gels rather than the normal round ones which means they fit in ears so much better. They come with 5 different sized ear gels so there should be a size to fit all. 2 of the gels are also doubled up which really does shut out noise like never before. They are also incredibly loud if you like your music that way, but as outside noise is blocked out with the right fit (which you will get eventually with enough experimentation) you can play your music quietly and still hear it clearly on the underground. Having bought them I would not hesitate in paying 50 for them. If you register you even get 2 free ear gels too. Thank you Klipsh and Amazon!
