Good Product gives safe lighting November 6, 2008 D. Hosty Bought this for my teenage son's new racing bike. Fitted easily, and solidly. Both lights are bright and have flash options. Front light casts decent light onto the ground in front. Tested by driving behind said lunatic son cycling for a mile in the dark, and he was well visible. Good product.
Does not comply with British standard 6102/3 cycle lights October 19, 2008 Mdr Finch (UK) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
On the box in small print it states "when used for cycling these lights should be used in conjunction with British standard 6102/3 cycle lights "....!!!! I'm sorry but I find it incredible that a reputable retailer like Amazon is selling a light in the UK that does not meet the British standard. In addition the fixing mechanism is poor and is little more than a plastic strap. They even provide you with some pathetic off cuts of plastic to attach to your bike before attaching the clip in an attempt to stop it turning on itself. This clearly demonstrates a design fault when they are having to send out addition bits of plastic. The front light is tiny and gives only a small patch of light for the cyclist to focus on. The main positive element is the run time of the light of a claimed 80 hours constant and 320 hours flashing. I would prefer to be safer and have a more powerful light that I had to change the batteries on more frequently. DO NOT BUY THIS LIGHT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE AND AMAZON PLEASE REMOVE FROM STOCK........
Very good October 13, 2008 D. Neish (Glasgow, Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very good, lightweight, low-energy consuming and long-lasting, light.
Very good brightness and visibility for urban commuting. Perhaps it could be a little better for side-on visibility (although I think that's a flaw of many LED lamps). The only significant flaw I've noted in several months use is that it is too easy to accidentally activate the EL135 when it's in a bag/your pocket/etc. It hasn't happened more than 1-2 times though. The bracket design is good and stable.
Fitting not a problem October 12, 2008 J. Griffith (High Peak GB) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had no difficulty fitting these lights. The thumbscrew mechanism worked perfectly for me. Make sure that the rubber gripper on the inside of the front light housing is in place before tightening up. If you need extra grip, try putting some tape on the tube first and tightening down onto that. I'm very pleased with this purchase, the lights are good quality.
Good lights, bad fittings October 2, 2008 Matthew Philp The lights themselves are great, small, light weight and bright. My front light on the handle bar went on fine. Sadly the rear fitting wasnt long enough to reach around any point on my frame. just a few more centermeters and it would have been fine. Ive attached the fitting to my bag and have the light on there, so not a complete waste.
