Thin blades YES, Thick blades NO December 4, 2008 Mike Hayden (Southampton UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found the Rollsharp worked very well on thin blades such as penknives. I think it would work with most hollow ground or half-tapered kitchen knives too (ie most budget and medium priced models). For heavier traditional taper ground knives I found it a lot less suitable.

Bought one ten years or so ago and it's faithfully looked after my knives ever since. I admit I was initially disappointed, until realising you're supposed to leave the cover *down* when using it, lol :) Tempted by the Shinkansen 'Water' Sharpener, but Kitchen Devils couldn't be simpler & quicker to use, + it's reasonably priced too!
Does the job! August 16, 2008 S. Grant (London) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Got a decent set of knives which I paid a fair bit for a few years ago. They were showing their age but I didnt want to use the sharpener stick so bought one of these on the strength of other amazon reviews.
Spent 10 minutes drawing each of the 5 knives through (of various size). Like a new set of knives for a 6 purchase! If you need to sharpen your knives buy one of these - you wont be disappointed.
At Last April 27, 2008 Stephen May 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
At last a simple knife sharpener that actually works. It may not be the most sophisticated piece of kit on the market and certainly not the most expensive. I've tried steels and whetstones in the past and been very disappointed. I now have all my Sabatier knives back in business and a pleasure to use again.
